Range and oven problems we fix
- Oven won't heat
Bake runs but the oven stays cold: bake element, gas igniter, temperature sensor or a board relay.
- Uneven or slow baking
One side browns first or dinner takes too long: temperature sensor, a weak element or igniter, convection fan or door seal.
- Broil not working
Bake works, broil does not. Typically the broil element or igniter, or its switch.
- Igniter clicks, burner won't light
Endless ticking, no flame: a wet or clogged burner head, cracked igniter, spark module or valve.
- Burner won't light at all
No click, no flame. We test the spark switch, module, wiring and gas supply.
- Electric element failure
An element that stays cold or has blistered. We replace it and check the socket and wiring it plugs into.
- Control board and error codes
F-codes, a dead display or an oven that shuts itself off. We test the sensor and keypad before blaming the board.
- Self-clean problems
A door stuck locked or an oven dead after the cycle: thermal fuse, lock motor or board.
- Door, gasket and temperature drift
A door that will not close flush, a worn gasket, or an oven that overshoots.
- Cooktop and wall oven trouble
Dead zones on glass cooktops, induction that will not see a pan, wall ovens tripping a breaker.
Gas ranges and safety
If you smell gas, leave the house. Do not flip switches, light anything or use a phone inside. Call your gas utility or propane supplier's emergency line, or 911, from outside. We do not respond to leaks; once the utility clears the home, we take it from there.
Short of a leak, gas ranges, natural gas or propane, are routine: igniters that click but never light, lazy yellow flames, a bake burner that cannot hold temperature. We leak-check every fitting we touch.
Dual-fuel ranges pair gas burners with an electric oven, so a dead oven there is usually electrical. We service both the gas and electric sides.
Electric ranges, wall ovens and cooktops
Most electric oven failures come down to a few parts: bake or broil element, temperature sensor, thermal fuse, door lock and control board. We rule out the cheaper causes before replacing a board.
Wall ovens and drop-in cooktops come out of the cabinetry first, so tell us on the schedule form if the unit is built in, single or double, or a microwave combination.
Commercial ranges are welcome too; include make, model and fuel type when you request an appointment.
How a range repair visit works
- Request an appointment
Use the schedule form: brand, fuel type, symptom, and the model number from the frame inside the oven door if handy.
- Confirm the window
We confirm the day and an arrival window: Morning (8 AM to 12 PM), Afternoon (12 PM to 4 PM), or flexible. Text updates available if you opt in.
- Diagnosis first
We find the fault and explain what it needs and costs before any work. You decide.
- Repair and test
If we have the part with us, we finish the repair in the same visit and test the oven and every burner before we go. If a part has to be ordered, we set the plan with you before leaving.

Range and oven repair questions
Why does the igniter glow but never light?
A worn igniter glows but no longer draws enough current to open the gas valve. A new igniter usually fixes it.
Is an older range worth repairing?
Often yes. Many range failures are one part, and you get the diagnosis and cost before any work.
Do you repair gas and electric?
Yes: dual-fuel, slide-in and freestanding ranges, single and double wall ovens, glass and induction cooktops, and commercial ranges.
Should I run self-clean first?
No. Self-clean runs the oven at its hottest and often triggers thermal fuse, lock and board failures. Skip it until after the repair.
Which brands do you work on?
Most major residential brands, gas and electric. Put the brand and model number on the schedule form so we can check parts availability before the visit.
What does it cost and how soon can you come?
The diagnostic fee and any estimate are confirmed when we book and again before work starts, so ask us when you schedule. We set the date and arrival window at booking; we do not offer same-day or emergency service.
